Josh Mavilia, CSCS

 

Josh Mavilia is the South Shore’s foremost expert on amusing marketing campaigns. Oh, and he’s also a personal trainer with over 15 years of experience training both clients and himself. He opened the gym as a way to take a little bit of “gym flair” and combine it with a comfortable personal training atmosphere.

Josh attended Northeastern University where he studied engineering and finished with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice before deciding to make his part-time personal training job into a full-time career. He’s worked in private studio, strength & conditioning, and commercial gym settings. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and likes sushi, Star Wars, trips to Hawaii, and spending time with his family, friends and dogs.

Hometown: Rockland, Massachusetts

Favorite Exercise: I’m currently working on a hybrid program of about 4 days of strength work complimented by roughly 10 miles per week of running (mostly easy and long runs).

Favorite Gym Advice: Find something you enjoy and get consistent. If you can take small efforts and compound them over time, you’ll get where you want to go.

Erin Barry, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Erin Barry, CSCS

 

Erin Barry is an accountant-turned–personal-trainer. Erin first joined as a member seeking help with recurring back pain. She had great success with the specialized programming and was amazed at the positive impact training could have on people’s lives. This experience inspired her to obtain her CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist). She really enjoys helping others with their health and fitness goals as well as sharing in the excitement of members’ achievements.

Outside of the gym, Erin likes baking desserts and experimenting with ingredients, spending time with family (especially Nana Banana), daydreaming about the next Walt Disney World/Universal Studios trip, watching Stranger Things, re-watching Stranger Things, and making connections with fellow SpongeBob SquarePants fans.

Hometown: Braintree, Massachusetts

Favorite Exercise: Challenging bodyweight exercises; I love the concept of your body being your gym.

Favorite Gym Advice: “Appreciate the little things in life because one day you`ll look back and realize they were the big things.”  One of my favorite days at the gym was completing my first floor push-up.  It was just a small moment in my larger fitness journey, but it’s these little wins that push you to challenge yourself and accomplish things you may not have thought possible.

Lily & Marshall

 

Lily & Marshall are Senior Vice President of Member Experience and VP of Fetching Operations, respectively. Lily has been on the team since the fall of 2018 and has experienced tremendous growth since coming onboard. Her favorite exercise is tug-of-war and she’ll be sure to pay a visit to everybody as they move through their workouts.

Marshall has been on the team since the summer of 2019. As Lily’s “little” brother, he enjoys fetching and hanging out by the air conditioning vents. Fun fact: Marshall also performs the role of Head of Security at the gym.
