Let’s address the elephant in the gym: CrossFit. It’s the workout cult everyone loves to debate.
While some folks swear by it and others avoid it like box jumps, we’re here to give credit where it’s due.
Spoiler alert: we don’t hate CrossFit. In fact, it does a lot right—even if we don’t crank out WODs.
First off, the community aspect is top-tier.
There’s something undeniably powerful about shared suffering.
People show up, grind together, cheer each other on, and build friendships between sets of thrusters.
It’s a social bond most traditional gyms just can’t replicate.
Then there’s the intensity.
CrossFit knows how to push people out of their comfort zones—perhaps sometimes a little too far, but they say there is no comfort in the comfort zone (and therefore, no growth, either).
And the volume of work packed into each workout is nothing short of impressive.
Whether it’s a dozen cleans or as many wall balls as your shoulders can handle, you get a serious sweat session and build serious muscle.
We also love how CrossFit programs big lifts like squats and deadlifts, along with kettlebells, dumbbells, and all the fun tools you should be using but probably aren’t.
These movements help build real strength, which carries over into day-to-day life.
But here’s the thing: CrossFit’s magic isn’t in its secret sauce (mostly because it’s not a CrossFit exclusive).
It’s in the consistency it encourages—people keep showing up because they don’t want to miss out.
That’s where the real results happen.
So to answer a common question, no, we don’t not like CrossFit.
We’re just big fans of smart training that balances progress with longevity.
And we prefer our workouts with fewer burpees.
