Ok almost** instantly.

But what does feeling better even mean? There are a zillion ways to define feeling better, but we’re going to focus on feeling physically better.

So let’s say that feeling physically better means moving more fluidly, being relatively free of pain and discomfort, and having the energy to do things like walk around or do some spur-of-the-moment athletic thing.

Of course working out, sleeping for at least 7-9 hours, and destressing regularly will all help you in your quest to feel better physically, but for now let’s focus on a few things that you can do on a daily basis that will make you feel better (almost) instantly.

Strategies for Exercise Program Success: Part I

To be honest, I sometimes think that I program better for our members than I do for myself.

I keep things simple, don’t mess around with rep ranges too much, and assign exercises that I know they’ll perform successfully. This seems to yield a steady stream of PRs and positivity.

If you’re looking for the exact blueprint, I don’t have it. (I mean, I sort of do, but it varies widely from person to person.) Programming is both an art and a science: you must make evidence-based decisions while creating a beautiful masterpiece of assorted equipment and movement variation.

It’s like writing a song: you can pretty much do whatever you want, but you still need to use scales and notes and stuff.

And so here I am, ready to dispense the great secrets that I believe create massive success for our members. I hope that these concepts work as well for you and your members as they’ve worked for us.

“Tom Brady Doesn’t Eat Tomatoes”: A Book Review

I was skeptical at first. I downloaded the book at 6:15 in the morning in the middle of a group session so that we could have a team discussion about the contents.

We’d heard all the speculation:

“Tom Brady doesn’t eat tomatoes.”

“Tom Brady’s kids only eat sushi.”

“Tom Brady only works on his flexibility with bands.”

Announcers, radio talk show hosts, the internet – everyone was trying to make heads or tails of Tom Brady’s training regimen before this book came out. And when the rumors are basically being crowd-sourced by a gaggle of non-fitness professionals, things start to sound a little bit weird.

So, thank God this book came out. Although Tom might be a partial frontman for what seems to be, at times, Alex’s thoughts, the book is great.

I love it.

At least that’s what I thought at first.
